Questions worth looking into.

Daily hours and longer periods

Review represented daily overtime alongside supported period thresholds. Complete uploads and matching period setup are needed to explain how ordinary and overtime hours have been allocated.

Part-time work beyond the pattern

Compare relevant work against written guaranteed hours or date-specific scheduled hours. Preserve the distinction between a total-period boundary and an individual day’s rostered-hours boundary.

Work near rest or rostered-day-off boundaries

Selected monetary rest and RDO/ADO outcomes depend on verified work intervals and supporting facts. Evidence about adjacent shifts or a day type can matter; missing facts cannot be replaced with assumptions.

What the current demo covers.

The controlled demo includes represented minimum-rate comparison, hourly ordinary pay, casual loading, daily overtime, weekend and same-day public-holiday cash penalties, day-work time-window penalties and minimum engagement.

When additional evidence is needed

Period overtime, hourly full-time averaging, monetary RDO/ADO and excess-work-day outcomes, part-time excess hours and selected monetary rest consequences are conditional. Complete period, roster, pattern and any applicable agreement or instruction evidence must support the calculation. Unverified paid-rest intervals require review.

Restaurant Industry Award 2020 (MA000119). Supported scenarios for casual, part-time and hourly full-time employees only. Production use is not approved.

Bring the right records together.

  • Employee profiles with a supported Restaurant classification and hourly employment type.
  • Pay/time records with reconciled work intervals, paid amounts and unique work record IDs.
  • The written part-time pattern or averaging arrangement where that scenario applies.
  • Actual-work roster evidence, including relevant adjacent shifts or RDO/ADO facts.
  • Complete uploads for the periods intersecting a weekly, fortnightly or roster-cycle calculation.
Use the payroll audit data checklist

The boundaries matter.

Annualised wages, exemption rates and loaded-rate arrangements are outside scope. The demo does not calculate meal-break-not-provided payments, additional paid-rest payments, the separate full-time or part-time public-holiday minimum, allowances or higher duties. Apprentices, trainees and supported-wage arrangements are not represented.

New audits require pay periods starting on or after 1 July 2025 and applicable source and calendar coverage. Earlier-starting periods are excluded in full.

WageReview does not determine legal Award coverage, classification, employment status or agreement validity. It does not process payroll, write back payments or provide tax, superannuation, leave, termination or salary reconciliation. Findings are for human review, not a guarantee of compliance.

Restaurant review questions.

Can WageReview reconcile an annualised salary?

No. Full-time support is limited to hourly Award-covered records. Annualised wages, exemption rates and loaded-rate arrangements are not part of the Restaurant offer.

What is needed for a monetary rest calculation?

The applicable calculation needs verified previous and next shift facts and any required agreement or instruction evidence. Ambiguous or unsupported paid intervals require manual review.

Does it check roster fairness or every workplace practice?

No. Roster evidence supports represented monetary calculations. WageReview does not make standalone findings about fairness, consultation or other practices without a supported pay outcome.
